On the afternoon of March 20, the provincial party committee member and secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Wang Rong made a research and held a meeting with industry associations. Zheng Yanling, the secretary general of Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (hereafter referred to LSCMA) made a speech as one representative of the six attending industry associations in the meeting.
Industry association is not only an important kind of social organizations but also a significant part of market economy and harmonious society construction. Modern logistics industry is one of the four pillar industries. Shenzhen Logistics and Supply Chain Management Association (formerly known as Shenzhen Federation of Logistics and Purchasing) was founded in 1994 and it is the earliest established logistics association in China. In April of 2010, LSCMA was awarded as the 5 A-class industry association -the top class association, by Bureau of Civil Affairs of Shenzhen Municipality and it was also honored as National Logistics Industry Advanced Group by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of PRC in December, 2011.
The secretary general, Zheng Yanling reported the general work of LSCMA in the meeting. She mentioned, LSCMA will stick to two principles of "Entrepreneurs Participate in the Association and Industry Leads the Association" and “Democratic and Institutional” and carry out its daily work from several aspects, like enhancing service awareness, upgrading service level, extending the service capability and diversifying service pattern. On the other hand, LSCMA will proceed to serve as a good assistant to both the government and the enterprises and explore the logistics market both home and abroad. The two industry platforms, the splendid expo -CILF and industry research run by Shenzhen Modern Logistics and Supply Chain Management Research Institute (SSCMR) have promoted the development of Shenzhen Logistics industry effectively. Zheng also made suggestions on the future development of industry association.
Wang Rong, the secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, listened carefully and exchanged with Zheng. He affirmed LSCMA’s achievement fully and inquired about details of CILF and SSCMR. Finally he expressed that there is a tremendous space for further development for LSCMA. Against the background of the window of reform and opening up, most industry associations in Shenzhen were established early and kept on making innovative progress. Many active achievements have been made to establish and improve the market economy, promote the healthy development of industry associations and cultivate new industries by the industry associations. With the promotion of reform, much importance has been attached to industry associations’ role by national and local governments and the golden stage for developing social organization is coming. The industry associations should stick to the market-oriented principle continuously, keep strengthening self-construction and service quality and upgrade the capability of regularizing, exploring and guiding the development of industry associations.
